Rose Campion

Lychnis coronaria
This beloved old plant is called Mullein Pink and Lamp Flower, for the felted leaves were used to make wicks for early oil lamps. Its brilliant magenta coloring is electric in combination with the silver-gray leaves and felty branching stems. Long-blooming during summer and low-maintenance; deadhead or cut back to its leafy rosette after flowering, leaving a few branches to ripen and drop seed to renew your plantings
