Surface sow and press in lightly
Sow indoors 8-10 weeks before setting out at last frost date. Keep at 65-70F, then grow on cooler 55-60F.
Direct sow in spring for blooms the same year.
PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
This Gold Medal winner was honored for its quick-to-bloom nature–the first year from seed sown in spring–and the rich saturated blue of its flowers. Compact and branching, it is a good choice for container culture or at the front of borders.
Keep moist, especially in full sun, but avoid saturated soils.
Prefers slightly acidic to neutral, but will grow in slightly alkaline soils.
Mix in a couple of inches of compost prior to planting.
Diseases & Pests:
Powdery mildew can be prevented by providing good air circulation and keeping the soil evenly moist. Water the soil, not the leaves mornings only so they dry readily.
