Mexican tulip poppy or Goldencup is native to the Chihuahuan high desert in Mexico, where it is perennial—it is grown as an annual in northern gardens. Show off the Mexican tulip poppy's gorgeous gray-green ferny leaves by growing in large drifts in rock gardens or sharply-drained border edges. The sunny yellow pleated blooms make excellent cut flowers that last well in the vase. Best performance where summer nights cool down. Bees love it!
