PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
Lychnis 'Vesuvius' has scarlet orange flowers in clusters of five-petaled, deeply notched petals. It blooms early summer, reblooming if regularly deadheaded. Pinch when setting out to encourage branching and profuse blooming. Allow a few to self-sow, if desired, an easy way to increase your holdings.
Water regularly—about 1" or so per week to keep evenly moist.
Mix about an inch of compost into the soil at time of planting, and top-dress every spring with a thin layer.
