Surface sow and press in.
Seed To Bloom:
6-7 months
Starting Indoors:
Recommended. Sow in pots in late winter with a light cover of vermiculite and keep at 65-75°F. If no germination after three weeks stratify by chilling in refrigerator for 3 weeks then bring back into warm.
Starting Outdoors:
Not recommended.
Watering Details:
Drought-tolerant, water to establish, then water only during prolonged dry spells,
Soil pH:
Slightly acidic to slightly alkaline
Fertilizer:
Incorporate an inch of compost in poor soils.
Diseases & Pests:
No significant pests or diseases. Avoid problems by siting in sharply-drained soils.
When to Cut for Bouquets:
Harvest when flowers are fully open. Wear gloves to protect from spines.
