Cosmos 'Fandango'

Cosmos bipinnatus
Feathery petals burst from the golden centers, adding another flounce to the red-purple silks and satins of this new cosmos. It is new, but the form is vintage, with illustrations of that extra collar of petals beckoning from seed catalogs of the past. A compact grower and full of flowers in summer. Deadheading is a must; picking for bouquets a joy.

PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
Amazing feathered flowers, easy as pie culture, and loads of blossoms make this cosmos an essential border flower. Not fussy as to soil, just deadhead or cut for bouquets to keep the show going. Pinch once when 1' tall for increased bushiness and even more flowers. Attracts numerous beneficial insects, making it a good addition to the borders of vegetable gardens too!

Low Water Use
Watering Details:
Drought tolerant. Water regularly while establishing, then water only during dry, hot spells.

Fertilizer:
Cosmos thrive in regular soil and may sprawl in nitrogen rich soils. If desired, an application of organic flower fertilizer can be mixed in around plants.
Diseases & Pests:
No major pests or diseases. Powdery mildew can be discouraged with a regular preventative application of a baking soda based spray.
