The seed quality and germination were all fine. I was just hoping for a pure bright white and this was more of a creamy yellow-ish white. Third photo on description looks the most like what I grew.
I’m in zone 8a, and sowed these in September of 2020, hoping for flowers the following spring. I have a very thick, red clay base, but most of the time I don’t even amend it, instead replacing it entirely with rich garden soil and natural compost. I believe at the beginning of spring I fed these a few times with Miracle Gro flowering formula (but only once or twice). My mistake was not cutting them back at the same time! These grew well over 2 feet tall by mid April, and bloomed, but with sporadic budding nodes, and not at all profusely, this as a consequence of not cutting them back. For those of you getting these for their fragrance, just know that they are very light to light in fragrance, and at times hard to detect at all. Overall it’s a very gorgeous cultivar, and awesome as a cut flower (fragrance is stronger indoors I think). These seeds are also really good, and germinate easily.
I started these from seed indoors mid March and planted in the landscape mid May (zone 4). These are a must-have in my garden. They outshined all other snaps I experimented with.
