Heliotrope 'Fragrant Delight'

Heliotropium arborescens
We lust after Victorian golden-leaved heliotropes such as the French variety Albert Delaux described in 1892–an ephemeral beauty lost to history. However, newer heliotropes, such as 'Fragrant Delight', still have that irrepressible fragrance so valued by past gardeners. Summer to frost, vanilla-scented amethyst flowers bloom in sprays over dark green quilted leaves. Water and fertilize regularly and evenly for the best growth and flowering.

PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
Heliotrope attracts pollinators, including Swallowtails and Monarchs, and enhances borders of summer annuals and patio containers with its sweet almond and vanilla fragrance. Pinch when setting out, use an even hand when watering, and deadhead for flowers until frost. Flowers well indoors in winter in a cool situation and misted often. Caution: all parts contain some toxic elements.
