SOWING INSTRUCTIONS
Seed To Bloom:
10-12 weeks
Starting Indoors:
Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Keep at 60-70°F.
Starting Outdoors:
Recommended. Direct sow after all danger of frost has passed.
WHEN TO SET OUTSIDE
About 2 weeks after last frost, when temperatures remain above 40°F.
PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
The small paintbrush blossoms of tassel flower dance on the tops of curvy stems, adding a free-spirited ambiance to cottage, meadow and cutting gardens. It weaves in and about summer border staples like zinnias and is impactful in drifts at the garden's edge. An unusual cut flower for its light orange hue contrasts beautifully with its blue-green leaves in bouquets. Easy to grow, tassel flower requires little care to continue blooming except cutting back of spent flower stems. Self-sows.
Watering Details:
Water regularly until established, then during dry spells.
Fertilizer:
If soil is especially poor, mix in a couple of inches of compost or some organic granular fertilizer when transplanting.
When to Cut for Bouquets:
Cut when flower spray is 3/4 open.
