Rose Campion 'Gardener's World'

Lychnis coronaria
Summer blooming double red campions were grown as early as 1614. They became all the rage and then dropped into obscurity, seemingly lost until now. This Blooms of Bressingham selection is sterile, so there is no crowd of little ones where they are not wanted, and the carnation-like blooms last for a long time.

PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
Rose campion is right at home in cottage gardens and drier meadow gardens, the brilliant beacons of bloom standing out, especially when grown in large drifts. Deadhead for a more extended season of bloom. As this selection is sterile, it does not spread and can be divided the following spring to renew your plantings. Cuttings taken from supple, non-flowering stems will also ensure a future supply of these rare plants.
