African Foxglove

Ceratotheca triloba

The botanical name refers to the horned seed capsules that develop along the stem; kerato means 'horned', and theke means 'a case'. Tall and elegant, it has foxglove-shaped flowers in lavender or rarely white, that open in succession from summer to fall. First mentioned in 1842 in America. We grew it in back of our moon garden, where its soft gray-green leaves and pastel flowers glowed!
Category: PlantsAnnual; tender perennial
