Balsam 'Appleblossom'

Impatiens balsamina
Garden balsam is native to India and quickly took to its adopted lands across the globe. Early gardeners cherished rare varieties with round rosettes of bloom. This blush pink balsam has that voluptuous form, with full florets blooming along the length of each succulent stem. Easy to grow, it blooms well in the sun or shade.

PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
This heirloom slipped into obscurity until we championed it, for "Camellia Flowered" balsams were prized in the Victorian era, and long lost since. This spotted balsam looks best in groups in the cottage garden or at the woodland's edge protected from unrelenting hot afternoon sun. They transplant with ease at any stage.
