Morning glories are the
simplest things in the world to grow
as long as you don't plant the seed until the weather warms. They are tropical,
heat-loving flowers, and the seed just rots if the weather is cold and damp. They will
grow in any soil, flowering uncomplainingly if they have sun.
Since they flower only until
frost, seeds can be planted indoors in fiber pots one month before the outdoor planting
date to lengthen the flowering period. Soak the seeds overnight in water to soften the
hard seed coat. Transplant, pot and all, when the weather warms.
Provide trellis for
support, they will quickly twine to 10' and cover the support with plentiful blooms.
Morning glories are poisonous.
