Flax 'Bright Eyes'

Linum grandiflorum
This Victorian antique flax is easy on the eyes; its clouds of pure white satiny blooms with dark pink eyes wave atop stems as thin and strong as wire. Sow direct in early spring, it blooms from spring to summer and combines beautifully with other hardy annuals such as Linaria, Nigella, poppies, and more.

PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
A beloved staple of early summer cottage gardens, the annual flax is at home planted in clusters alongside meadow and cottage garden favorites at the garden's edge in loose, well-drained soils. Its slender foliage is an elegant backdrop to the new blossoms that open daily. This plant is particularly well-suited for cooler summer climates, where its extended blooming period can be fully appreciated; elsewhere, it is a spring and early summer delight. It benefits from deadheading and is tolerant to some drought.
